Khaplu's Hidden Grace
This jewellery collection is inspired by the architectural beauty of Khaplu, the administrative capital of Ghanche in Baltistan, a region rich in culture and heritage. This region’s three historical landmarks, Chaqchan Mosque, Astana Mir Muhammad, and Khaplu Fort, serves as the main inspiration for this project. The Khaplu architecture’s unique artistry such as intricate motifs/patterns, jali work, wood carvings, and color palettes found in these buildings served as the foundation for the designs. By combining traditional elements with modern techniques and different materials, each piece highlights the details and craftsmanship seen in Khaplu’s architecture, transformed into wearable art. To keep the connection to the region alive, the gemstones that are mined from Khaplu have been used, adding authenticity and meaning to the collection. This thesis aims to highlight the beauty of traditional architecture not only as beautiful adornments but also as cultural artifacts that connect the wearer to the rich history of the region. This collection brings attention to the cultural richness of the Khaplu and share its timeless elegance with the world

Final Products
The collection was created using silver as the base metal, with wooden elements CNC-engraved for precision. The lattice-inspired earrings were developed in CAD, while the remaining six pieces—including earrings, long pendant, keychain, bracelet, choker, and hair pin—were entirely handcrafted with careful attention to detail and accuracy.
